108. Bodycon In The Daytime

Dress-Asos, Blouse-Primark, Boots-Topshop

Bodycon in the daytime?! Oh yes! This sexy little number recieved its first outing on my birthday where it was worn with heels and false lashes-very evening. However, today I wore it dressed down with thickest of thick tights and a high necked blouse. As soon as I put my specs on I felt a tad secretary/teacher-esque, hence the tacky posing with pen and pad. This picking up of a sketchpad for a prop did lead me to draw for the first time in absolutely ages. I used to draw every single day, but doing it for further education sucked the creativity out of me a tad. Its been too long and I mean to start it up again and regain some of my skill! Charlotte Free was my first victim today, but hopefully there will be many more to help me get less rusty!

11. Summer Shudder

Jacket-Ancient Levi's
Crochet Waistcoat-New Look
T-Shirt-H&M
Shorts-New Look
Shoes-Converse
Necklace-Topman
Transitional dressing equals layer, layer, layer. Crochet and pale denim both scream spring/summer to me but together they helped me combat that crispy September air! Crochet is technically knitwear right!? This is also my vague attempt at a slightly looser "just thrown on" kind of look, of course topped off by the trusty Converse. I'd wanted to wear lo-tops, but they are hiding under one of the many piles of clothes and crap about the flat, so I folded down my hi-tops instead.
Today was my day off, thank God, thank Buddah, thank everyone. I celebrated by spending my last birthday gift card (New Look this time) on a set of 2 waist belts, a snood (hello winter!) and thiiick tights-which I was in dire need of. The pair I'm wearing now are my last in tact pair. When I say in tact, I mean of course that the holes and ladders are all on the feet of them, therefore hidden from view. What a pro.
After New Look I then made the massive mistake of going next door into H&M. All I wanted was a stripy jumper I'd seen previously, that was ridiculously cheap, like £7.99 or something? Of course I came out with 4 other items, not one of them being the cheapo jumper. They are all blog worthy though, so shall be featured in a later post.
I've also sorted my holiday insurance (Antigua, 2 weeks today!) so my mind is at ease over that at the very least. Oh, one other good thing today-bought a couple of birthday cards in M&S and got given some kind of loyalty card stamp scheme? Basically everytime you buy a card from them, you get a stamp, then when you've recieved six stamps, the next card you get is free. Wondrous! And with the £1 cards they do in there, cheapness too!

5. Put On That Dress

Just a quick one, about to go out for a catch up meal with a bunch of friends. Dress code-I'm reckoning on smart but not too dressy, but definitely with a heel. I was going to bare leg and low heel it, but since its all rainy I must don tights-which in turn call for a much higher, exciting shoe to liven them up. Found these old New Look skyscrapers near the top of the shoe pile!

I got this dress in the Asos sale this year, its got a real vintagey look to it-its not a colour I'd normally choose, but with the semi-backless aspect, it kind of makes brown sexy! Oo la la. I love paperbag waists too but I've had to add the belt as otherwise it looked a bit frilly in the wrong place for me (read-it thickened my waist a treat) so a this good old cincher from Topshop saved the day. Though I may have to remove it when I've inhaled my burger. Yummers.

2. Date With The Night

Sheer top-Primark
Skirt-New Look
Tights-Henry Holland for Pretty Polly
Boots-Asos
Faux leather bralet (underneath)-Topshop
Leather Jacket-Vintage/Recycled leather at Topshop
I write this through a lemsip haze (not just any lemsip, lemsip max, the hard stuff) so please excuse any crapness. My boyfriend plays in a couple of bands and last night one of them were playing in front of an audience for the very first time. So I dutifully overdosed on the lemsip, blew my nose 100 times (I don't do illness subtley) and dolled myself up. I like to think the leather look bralet added a tough sexy edge underneath the feminine top, though you couldn't really see it in the dodgy lighting at the gig. Ah well, I tried. Everyone else was in jeans too, so kudos to me for looking the most sensational/tragically overdressed. I also have to mention the jacket. IT HAS FRINGING. From the moment I saw it in the Oxford Street Topshop I was massively in love. Its made up of various vintage leather jacket parts put together to make one magical beast. WITH FRINGING. I'd been searching for a real leather jacket that wasn't over the £200 mark but was a little bit different for so so long, so when I saw this one I knew it was worth abusing the credit card for. It's pretty much my key piece for pulling outfits together right now, especially going into Autumn. Anyway, time for my snotty face to catch up with The Killing (Yes, the U.S version, no I've not seen the original so I don't care if its sooo much better) Adieu.
