115. Style Crush-Dress Like Cara Delevigne

I really admire model-of-the-moment Cara Delevigne's downtime relaxed style. Slightly hip-hop, slightly skater, slightly rocker, slightly luxe. Looks totally casual and DGAF-ish at the same time as screaming "FASHION." In interviews she's mentioned she drums, plays guitar, and even tries rap. When you consider these hobbies alongside her modelling career, you kinda start to "get" her style that bit more!

108. Bodycon In The Daytime

Dress-Asos, Blouse-Primark, Boots-Topshop

Bodycon in the daytime?! Oh yes! This sexy little number recieved its first outing on my birthday where it was worn with heels and false lashes-very evening. However, today I wore it dressed down with thickest of thick tights and a high necked blouse. As soon as I put my specs on I felt a tad secretary/teacher-esque, hence the tacky posing with pen and pad. This picking up of a sketchpad for a prop did lead me to draw for the first time in absolutely ages. I used to draw every single day, but doing it for further education sucked the creativity out of me a tad. Its been too long and I mean to start it up again and regain some of my skill! Charlotte Free was my first victim today, but hopefully there will be many more to help me get less rusty!

100. Spare Time

ONE HUNDRED POSTS! My goodness. This needs celebrating by wearing a shirt with a wicked cool print of bowling on the back of it. I hate bowling but I like how it looks on a shirt. Plus it was a bargain in the asos sale-if you click on the asos link above, it takes you to it. Same applies to the ebay skirt which believe it or not I tried to iron. I failed miserably. I want it in all the other colours too, and for £9.90 with free P+P, it would be a shame not to.

How do you like my Topknot also? I usually only wear my hair up about once every 2 years, but recently my laziness at needing to wash my hair if I want it to look vaguely presentable worn down has overcome my usual disgust at how my face/side profile looks with no hair to hide it. Go self-confidence, go! My face is also helped by a recent splurge at the Benefit cosmetics counter. I now own Erase-Paste, Porefessional, and Hello Flawless foundation. I feel like a real grown-up.

Another odd occurence in my life, is that last week I defied all expectations and went to a Zumba class. AND I LIKED IT. WHAT THE EFF? Generally the idea of exercise, particularly in a group, to cheesy music, makes me want to either vomit or be violent. But I shook my butt like a pro. Thank God there were no mirrors.

95. Specs, Skin and Sequins aka I'M BACK!

I'm not even going to try and look back to see when it was I last posted. TOO LONG AGO. I'd love to explain my absence with a powerful life changing story. But er...I've just been working, working, working and occassionally doing the odd impression of The Human Centipede to break it up.

How'd you like the new spectacles though? I recently realised I was well overdue with my eye test when I found myself squinting at the tv, even though I had my glasses on. The eye test confirmed my vision has dwindled somewhat, so I treated my peepers to two, yes two (!) new pairs. The above round tortoiseshells, and some new black square ones by Gant, that are blacker and squarer than ever before. I heart them both, I really do.

Expect some kind of photo's only update, to better explain what I've been doing that deserved my time more than blogging, but I will bow out for now, and let you calm yourself down, instead of making you hyperventilate in excitement at this post.

91. Battle For The Sun

                 The dress, sandals and sunglasses...they are ALL from Topshop. I am a complete Topshop junkie.

I finally got to debut my borderline-too-revealing maxi in the brief glimpse of sun that popped out on Sunday. To keep up with the summertime sun theme, I paired it with goff black accessories and vampy red nails. Very fresh.

My lovely boyfriend turned photographer. He has the best face ever.

81. Style Crush-Rachel Bilson

Aaah, Rachel Bilson. Even though my own style is quite different from hers, I've always crushed on her from afar since those heady OC days. With the start of her new show Hart of Dixie, I thought now was the time to ogle her properly. She always managed to look polished, even when dressing down, and though at times her style features quite masculine tailoring, she never seems too look anything other than...well, pretty!

66. Retail Therapy

After having no break at work yesterday, I got to leave early today. BRILLIANT SAYS I! OUCHIE SAYS MY BANK. Now I know I said I was going to be doing more thrift/ebay spending... but Thomas went on holiday today, and I'm disproportionately sad about how much I'm going to miss him considering it's only 2 weeks that he is gone. And it was a sadness that only Topshop could cure.





The dress wins for me as it is actually long enough to near on touch the ground, although it does have another cut out in the fabric across the boobies-I may have to add a stitch to keep my modest girls under wraps. The top is part of the Realitee concession. Anyway, I'm keeping this short and sweet, as another part of my girlish moping is curling up to read The Hunger Games trilogy with some M&S cookies. Going to view a cottage for rent tomorrow morning, so want to look rested and therefore respectable for that too. Happy Weekend everyone, may yours be less self pitying than mine!

58. These Grey Days-first beach visit of 2012

Today Thomas and I had the perfect Sunday, which may or may not have included cheese for breakfast. We took ourselves and a thermos flask of hot chocolate to Witterings and had an appetite building walk along the beach. I was wearing more layers than in those photos (a lot more layers) I was merely being vain and wanting to show off my new Topshop tunic. I saw this in their Spring Summer campaign ads and immediately hunted it out. I'm hoping its going to come out in a whole range of colours so that I can get every single one.
I have included that oh so attractive mugshot close up too, as despite the er...excitable look on my face, I am rather impressed with the new Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation I used for the first time today, and I think could be my favourite new product of the year so far. My skin is usually a bit sallow, and a bit uneven, but I think this foundation is actually doing what it says on the tin!
After this beach visit, we went into town and dined/made ourselves fat on a massive Sunday carvery dinner-I had beef AND turkey, and Tom had second helpings of just about everything. Now about to finish off the day with a pile of chocolate bars and the third season of Buffy on DVD.

Perhaps I should turn this blog into a food blog. Eating occupies my brain about 70% of the time.
