112. Wedge Trainers and Pretty Dresses

Dress-Boohoo, Cardi-H&M, Trainers-Deena&Ozzy at Urban Outfitters

Concealed wedge trainers have been kicking about for some time now. I absolutely loathe about 90% of them. But then that other 10%...ohhhhh that gooooorgeous 10%, I want to marry and make tiny little shoe babies with.

Awkward lovemaking aside, these are my personal pedantic rules on the wedge trainer.

1. The wedge must be CONCEALED. Otherwise there's something about the aesthetic that just seems so so awkward to my eye.

2. NO BRIGHTS. Blacks and greys are my favourites, though I also like pale neutrals. I'm even partial to a bit of print. But the bright block colours that others seem to adore, scream junior school sports day way too loud to be allowed near my tootsies.

3. They must have a big fat tongue. The appeal to me is the chunky look. I like a wedge trainer, not a wedge plimsoll. Now a flatform plimsoll is something I can admire...but that's another subject for another time.

4. I prefer something of the hi-top about them. Again for the chunkiness, and also to distinguish from some kind of thigh toning exercise aid.

5. This is perhaps hardest to explain but very important. At the back, I like them to be shaped in a straight line. No shaping round the foot form. Otherwise they can look like they're trying to be too elegant. And c'mon, it's TRAINERS.
6. NO BUCKLES. Laces or velcro, whatever you fancy. But not buckles. Buckles are for proper shoes for proper people.

With these rules, I think you can team the trainer with numerous styles of outfit! Pretty antithetic dresses like above, simple skinny jeans and tee, perhaps even a tailored jogger if there is such a thing.
Now for your viewing pleasure, feast your peepers on my cream of the crop.
Ok, that sounded like some kind of innuendo.
Ahem, please look at these shoes what I think are the nicest ones. I think you'll see what I mean by "a straight back".

110. Burgundy is the new Black (PLUS DUCKS)

Jumper-H&M, Shirt-Lee plus DIY, Shorts-www.missguided.co.uk, Boots-Topshop

Last week I hopped on the train for a little while to visit my fantastic pal Matthew in Brighton. According to ASOS  "burgundy is the new black" so I'm feeling oh so on trend with this H&M knit number. Of course I had to trash it up a tad with some inverted cross shorts. Aren't I a devil? (I'm not even sorry.)

Anyway we had a lovely time eating lots of food at Black Lion. We somehow always end up there and it's always delish. After consuming far too much, we burnt away those calories by prancing about in Queen's Park on the children's zip line and posing on trees. Perfect day no?

My friend Matthew is an occassional reader of this blog, and every now and then I'll receive a complimentary/creepy ass text telling how he has spied on my most recent posts.

SO THESE ARE FOR YOU!!!

Ain't he a beaut?

Anyway, for a final bit of pleasure, here are some ducks I saw and photographed, also at the park.

AWWWWW!

108. Bodycon In The Daytime

Dress-Asos, Blouse-Primark, Boots-Topshop

Bodycon in the daytime?! Oh yes! This sexy little number recieved its first outing on my birthday where it was worn with heels and false lashes-very evening. However, today I wore it dressed down with thickest of thick tights and a high necked blouse. As soon as I put my specs on I felt a tad secretary/teacher-esque, hence the tacky posing with pen and pad. This picking up of a sketchpad for a prop did lead me to draw for the first time in absolutely ages. I used to draw every single day, but doing it for further education sucked the creativity out of me a tad. Its been too long and I mean to start it up again and regain some of my skill! Charlotte Free was my first victim today, but hopefully there will be many more to help me get less rusty!

101. Skaggy Sunday

Drop Hem Tee-asos, birdie print shorts (can you spot them?)-asos, creepers-ebay.

Technically this is not an outfit of the day, though I did actually wear this tee today...until I got bacon/baked bean grease all down it. Classy gal. But I just found this photo on my computer-previously discarded as being too "skaggy" looking. But today I thought "Awww, what the crap, I feel the urge to post, this here will do."

Maybe I've got sunstroke?

Happy Sunday everyone!

100. Spare Time

Shirt-asos, Skirt-ebay, Shoes-Topshop.

ONE HUNDRED POSTS! My goodness. This needs celebrating by wearing a shirt with a wicked cool print of bowling on the back of it. I hate bowling but I like how it looks on a shirt. Plus it was a bargain in the asos sale-if you click on the asos link above, it takes you to it. Same applies to the ebay skirt which believe it or not I tried to iron. I failed miserably. I want it in all the other colours too, and for £9.90 with free P+P, it would be a shame not to.

How do you like my Topknot also? I usually only wear my hair up about once every 2 years, but recently my laziness at needing to wash my hair if I want it to look vaguely presentable worn down has overcome my usual disgust at how my face/side profile looks with no hair to hide it. Go self-confidence, go! My face is also helped by a recent splurge at the Benefit cosmetics counter. I now own Erase-Paste, Porefessional, and Hello Flawless foundation. I feel like a real grown-up.

Another odd occurence in my life, is that last week I defied all expectations and went to a Zumba class. AND I LIKED IT. WHAT THE EFF? Generally the idea of exercise, particularly in a group, to cheesy music, makes me want to either vomit or be violent. But I shook my butt like a pro. Thank God there were no mirrors.

91. Battle For The Sun

The dress, sandals and sunglasses...they are ALL from Topshop. I am a complete Topshop junkie.

I finally got to debut my borderline-too-revealing maxi in the brief glimpse of sun that popped out on Sunday. To keep up with the summertime sun theme, I paired it with goff black accessories and vampy red nails. Very fresh.

My lovely boyfriend turned photographer. He has the best face ever.

89. On The Fringe

J'adore my new Rare body. The fact that the fringing is two-tone just makes it heavenly in my eyes. Even if all those heavenly fringey bits keep getting looped around everything-the rest of my clothes, door handles, staircase bannisters, my own face....EVERYTHING. I got it from asos the other day for twenty British pounds. Find it here! The best part is that it has a hook and eye fastening in the downstairs area, so you don't have to strip off entirely to use the loo and have the terrifying moments of imagining someone walking in on you practically starkers, doing your business.

The shorts are my latest Levi's DIY cut offs, and the colour means they'll be my go-to in the summer when I imagine myself to be somewhere suitable for cut offs like California rather than boggy Southern England.

87. My Own Summer

Bralet-River Island, Jen Slim Chino-Wrangler, Wedge-Office
This is what I wore yesterday. Then I looked outside at the rain, and added a hoodie and flats before I ventured out to drown. I think this may be the first time I've showcased these chinos on the blog but I do wear them fairly regularly as an alternative to jeans. They're incredibly comfortable and lightweight, and look even better when they've been ironed. I assume.

Apologies for the tit photo, I just wanted to show off the pretty print.

86. Ahoy!

 Sweatshirt-Topman (my boyfriend's), Dress-New Look (old), Shoes-Rocket Dog
Tiredness coupled with rain required me to cosy up in a boy sweater yesterday. However for the purposes of looking presentable, I paired it with a pretty dress. But that's not the only factor that made me choose this dress. Look how it flares out wonderfully from the waist, skimming over the largest bellyful of burrito and beer, after a starter of pizza and chocolate biscuits.

85. Uniform

Happy Bank Holiday everybody, inlcuding those who still had to work. I thankfully didn't, but I did work yesterday. ON THE SABBATH DAY. Anyway, the above is what I wore to do all my hard workings. And by hard workings I mean putting on a really rubbish attempt at a smiley patient face when confronted with a general public possessing little to none in the listening skills department. Anyway, this is generally the kind of thing I wear-Converse for comfort, cut off Levi's as the actual uniform part (we stock Levi's), and some kind of blazer to appear smartish despite the piercings/tattoos/chipped black nail polish quite clearly on show.

On a life story note, I also roasted a whole entire chicken for the first time ever last night. I named her Rosie, and she was genuinely the tastiest chicken I have ever consumed.

84. Bluety and the Beast

Faux Fur-Warehouse, Hat-H&M, Blouse-Vintage, Shorts-ebay, Shoes-Rocket Dog

This was my outfit of choice last night, not to go to some throwback underground seventies disco (I WISH, I may have fitted in, but this area is sadly lacking) but just out for drinks with the boy. We had Sailor Jerry Coke Floats and I also supped a Mint Choc Martini, which basically tasted like liquid after eight. I must stop indulging in drinks which are just alcoholic desserts in disguise.

83. God Bless Catastrophe

Thomas bought this tee from the merch stand at the Trio gig. I immediately commanded "WE CAN SHARE IT" and voila. Presumably he won't pair it with a floral maxi but I bloody well have. Though I assume that the visual loudness will horribly assault most peoples peepers, it pleases mine greatly. I think this summer will bring more of this sort of look from me-a terribly literal version of boy/girl dressing.

82. Mercy Me

All items old, diy, or stolen from boyfriends wardrobe.

Horrendous photos I know, but this is what I wore, along with out of shot trusty Converse, to an Alkaline Trio gig on Tuesday night. My favourite song (Crawl) didn't get played, sad times, but it was a brilliant gig, and I'll let them off because they are just such....NICE men

Here is another horrendous photo, taken on my blackberry. If you squint a bit and listen to this song, it'll feel just like you're right there.
